Military Kids
Did you know that there are over 1 million American children with at least one parent serving active duty in the United States military? Please take a moment to remember our U.S. troops. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers and think of their children, for they too serve and sacrifice for their country. Be sure to check with your nearest military installation for specially planned activities and events for kids. Military Wives Need Support Too!
The military lifestyle can be very demanding. Frequent moves, war-time tension and anxiety, living far from family, and juggling multiple household roles can really take a toll on our physical and mental well-being. As military wives, we’re the cornerstones of support for our husbands and families. We’re responsible for providing continuity and stability on the home front. Holiday Deployment and Marriage
Nurturing your marriage and keeping the intimacy alive while living apart is a real challenge that most military wives face, especially around the holiday season. It’s so important to stay connected and preserve the special bond between you and your husband. Special Occassions Apart
Try to maintain traditions while your spouse is gone, but don’t fuss if every little detail isn’t the same as the year before. It’s important for children to see that the special occasions go on even when a parent is away. Consider starting a new tradition for yourself, or make substitutions until you two can be together again. Instead of sitting at home on your anniversary, plan a girls’ night out. If you live alone, consider spending the special day with friends or relatives so you don’t wake up to an empty house. Show Your Patriotism Every Holiday!
You don’t need to wait around for the 4th of July to celebrate your country! Showcase your pride this Halloween by using a patriotic stencil while carving your pumpkin. For those with husbands and fathers in the military, why not carve their branches seal into this years pumpkin.
