Moms are reaching out and helping other moms…

istock_000004343641xsmall.jpg

Through our Military/Civilian Swap page here on HHC. It’s very simple. Military wives post what they need or what they wish for, and civilian wives donate what they have or what they can buy . Last year for Christmas, an army wife posted a need for a snowsuit for her baby girl. A civilian wife read her post and fulfilled her need.

Generous civilian wife,

I don’t know who you are but I wanted to send you a letter to let you know what a saving grace you are. Because of you, my daughter will be warm this winter. It fits her perfectly and I now feel better taking her out in this cold weather. I wish there was a way to pay you back for your generosity because I feel a thank you just isn’t enough. Here is a picture of my baby wearing it. She just looks so good in it. Again, thank you, thank you, thank you!*

Signed,

Grateful army wife

With presents to give,
And to see just who
In this home did live.

I looked all about,
A strange sight I did see,
No tinsel, no presents,
Not even a tree.

No stocking by the mantle,
Just boots filled with sand,
On the wall hung pictures
Of far distant lands.
