Regardless of an American’s political affiliation, ethnicity or religion, one common symbol has evolved throughout the years to be what people need it to be: the yellow ribbon. This tradition bridges the gap between all Americans, representing love, support and homecoming for our loved ones that are away—no matter where they are.
Please Show Support for Our Troops!
Recently my neighbor tied a large yellow ribbon around the tree in her front yard. It was a beautiful sign of loyalty she has for her daughter who was deployed. Over the years, the yellow ribbon has become a renowned symbol of the devotion we have to our family members serving away from home in the military.

Fly your flag with pride and respect!
My heart swells at the sight of an American flag waving high. It invokes a sense of pride, gratitude, hope, and patriotism. As military wives, we are inherently patriotic. We view the red, white, and blue as the tangible cloth that binds America together. It symbolizes freedom and reminds me of the sacrifice by those who have courageously served, and those who continue to serve, to protect and preserve our civil rights.

President Bush Signed Sole Survivor Benefits Law
President Bush recently signed the Hubbard Act, surrounded by members of the California family whose multiple sacrifices inspired the military pay-and-benefits law. The Hubbard Act” was named after Clovis Army Specialist, Jason Hubbard, who lost both of his brothers in the war in Iraq.
Under the U.S. military “sole survivor” policy, the last remaining sibling in a war zone can ask to return home, following the death of a brother or sister. The Hubbard Act also restores recruitment bonuses and various benefits to sole survivors that are discharged early from the military. Under this new law, sole survivors will also retain eligibility rights for the same services that honorably discharged men and women have access to.
